Dear Communication Disorders Graduates

Your foundation is solid: critical-thinking, cultural competence, evidence-based and competent clinical practice, local and global service to the community, and innovation. So, we anticipate that you will go forth serve your clients and patients well and achieve great things one small step at a time.

Dr. Jessica Bonner, Chair, Department of Communication Disorders

Dear CDIS graduate students,

Well, the day has finally arrived. Graduation! You can rejoice in knowing that you have accomplished an amazing feat. Your hard work, sacrifices, and getting through challenges has all paid off. The CDIS faculty, staff, and I have watched you learn and grow academically and professionally, and we are so incredibly proud of the individuals you have become and the speech-language pathologists we know you will be. Your foundation is solid: critical-thinking, cultural competence, evidence-based and competent clinical practice, local and global service to the community, and innovation. So, we anticipate that you will go forth serve your clients and patients well and achieve great things one small step at a time.

We wish you the best as you enter the next phase of your journey. We are your colleagues now and we stand beside you. Please keep in touch.

Sincerely,

Jessica Bonner, Ph.D., CCC-SLP
