Honors College celebrates 2024 graduates
Students are first to don HC medallions

In its first year as the Honors College, 14 Governors State University (GovState) 2024 graduates were celebrated in an intimate ceremony shared with family, friends, faculty and VIPs, including including President Cheryl Green and Will Davis, Vice President of External Affairs.
Interim Dean David Rhea, who has led the program for a decade, received the Jonathan Cruz Award for his outstanding contributions to the program.
Also, Claudia Serrato, a 2024 Health Informatics graduate, received the Dr. Larry Levinson Award for her service as chair of the Honors Student Council.
To the incoming council, she offered encouraging words.
“From our conversations with you all from hanging out in the Honors Lounge, playing pool and studying for exams, I know you will do great things. I thank you all for stepping into these roles and hope to see you create your own legacies.”
