Women's basketball win the 2025 CCAC Championship

The Governors State University (GovState) women’s basketball team are Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) tournament champions!
The women’s team beat St. Francis 70-64 at their home game Monday night, winning the post-season tournament CCAC championship.
With this win, the Jaguars completed the CCAC double-double following their previous win at the CCAC Conference regular season championship. This season, GovState was unbeaten 16-0 in the ARC (Athletics and Recreation Center).
In the championship game, the Jaguars came back from 9 points down after the first quarter and took a 37-33 lead in halftime. The two teams played even in the third quarter followed by a fourth quarter 13-4 run by the Jaguars, keying the winning margin for the champions.
The women’s team will play next in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Nationals later this month, making this the second straight season for Head Coach Tonishea Mack’s team to go to Nationals.
While the women’s team are celebrating their latest win, the men’s basketball team are celebrating some end of season awards.
GovState Super Sophomore Vincent Davis earned 2nd Team All-CCAC Honors and Senior Tyrell Isom received an Honorable Mention All-Conference.
