What Are You Grateful for, GSU?

Thanksgiving-eblast

As Governors State University (GSU) looks forward to the holiday season, GSU Newsroom asked students to reflect on what they are grateful for and why. Here is what they had to say:

Victoria Dean

victoria dean“I am thankful for the endless support I receive from my friends and family to continue my education and pursue my dreams. Having a loving team in my corner motivates and inspires me to achieve anything I set my mind to.”

Jessica Macias

Jessica Macias“I am grateful for having the ability to further enhance my education and pursue my Master’s and Educational Specialist (Ed.S.) degrees in School Psychology. It is especially important for me to be able to do this to show my three children that you are your own best investment and that with hard work and determination, you can continue to reach your goals. I am eternally grateful for those who have aided me in getting to this point in my life because without them I would not be where I am today.”

“I’m grateful for so many things in my life such as my parents. My parents are my support system. If anyone asks me what’s behind my success, I will credit all my achievements to them. They are my first love.”

“I am thankful for the community here at GSU. As a first semester transfer student, I was nervous about being alone and socially distanced from my peers around campus. But thanks to the Jaguar community with staff such as Dr. Phyllis West, Psychology Professor Dr. John Steele, and even President of our amazing university, Dr. Cheryl Green, I was able to not only fit in, but stand out with other high achieving students at GSU."
