Wellness Week 2025: Habits to support overall wellness
The University is ready to celebrate health and wellness by promoting a better lifestyle and discussing important disease prevention initiatives at Wellness Week, returning this September at Governors State University (GovState).
The annual event held Sept. 15 – 19, highlights the collaborative professional and academic efforts by GovState’s students, faculty, alums, and local community members to address the wellness of the community.
Throughout the week, events will cover topics around the eight dimensions of wellness: emotional, spiritual, intellectual, physical, environmental, financial, occupational, and social. Some topics include using positive affirmations to overcome negative thoughts, understanding sensory preferences, and engaging in play even as an adult.
Whether it’s about mental or physical health, the weeklong event aims to identify resources and tools for people to use to help reduce stress, enhance connectedness, and foster improved lifestyles practices.
Wellness Week is open to all students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community members. The events are hosted on the GovState campus, no registration required.
