Welcome Back Message from Provost Schneller

It is with great pleasure and pride that I welcome you to the 2022-23 academic year at Governors State University (GSU).  As we celebrate more than 50 years of excellence in education as a University, we can think of no better way to continue to build our legacy than by supporting you as a Jaguar!

What will this academic year have in store for you?  What has brought you to our beautiful campus? How can we help you achieve your dreams and goals? These are just some of the questions our faculty and staff are eager to ask you as we get to know you and how we can make the most of our time together.

Here at Governors State University, we are committed to making every moment we have with you count.  We want you to take full advantage of our excellent graduate, undergraduate, and certificate programs.  We want you to develop networks and friendships that will last a lifetime and we want you to exceed your own expectations!

As President Green said in her 2020 inaugural address, “Together we must.” Now two years later, that continues to mean we must find ways to engage with one another in our learning and growth journeys.  We must stand together in support of equality, equity, and removal of barriers to success for all people and we must communicate openly and transparently with one another as we model excellence in thought, word, and actions.  Together we will achieve excellence on and off campus! And we will celebrate our accomplishments and learn from one another, appreciating the richness and diversity of how we have come to be one at Governors State University.

Welcome home to GSU!
