Welcome Back from Associate VP of Facilities

I hope your return to campus is made even more enjoyable by the hard work that has gone into enriching Governors State over the last year.
John Potempa, Associate Vice President of Facilities Development and Management

Welcome back to campus, Jaguars!

Facilities has taken advantage of the last year of low traffic at the university to not just maintain, but improve Governors State to enhance your experience on campus.

Since you’ve been gone, the Jaguar Dining Center has been completely remodeled. You’ll notice the overhaul of the 17,500-square-foot café includes renovated serving stations and dining areas. Study breaks in the dining center have been improved with more seating, a better view of the lake, and ambient lighting.

A new Financial Aid office was constructed with a seating area in the D building where you’ll also notice freshly painted walls, and new carpeting--including in the Hall of Governors. Have classes in the C Building? You'll notice remodeled offices there as well.

Behind the scenes, HVAC replacement and upgrades, the installation of air purifiers, and fire panel and sprinkler replacement ensure the university continues running smoothly, safely, and efficiently.

Mapped out over the coming years are even more plans for continual improvement to the university that so many of you call home.

I hope your return to campus is made even more enjoyable by the hard work that has gone into enriching Governors State over the last year. We’re glad to have you back.
