Time and stress management: Workshop for graduate students
From Staff Reports
Continuing its series of student success workshops, Governors State University’s (GovState) College of Graduate Studies is offering a virtual workshop on time and stress management later this month for all graduate students.
Led by licensed clinical psychologist Dr. Ammara Khalid, the workshop, “Coping Strategies for Time and Stress Management,” will focus on practical techniques for managing time effectively while reducing stress, said Dean Mary Carrington.
“We're offering this workshop to help graduate students manage their time and stress levels, and promote their mental well-being as we approach the end of the spring term,” said Dr. Carrington. “This is a busy and stressful time for all graduate students—those who are working on final assignments for courses, as well as those finishing their degrees and preparing to graduate.”
Students will learn how to prioritize tasks, set realistic goals, and use relaxation techniques to stay calm under pressure.
There will be interactive activities and strategies to balance work, personal life, and well-being, helping individuals improve productivity and maintain mental health.
“With many graduate students managing school, work, and family obligations, we encourage them to attend this workshop that should help them manage these challenges,” said Dr. Carrington.
The workshop will be held virtually on April 23 from 2 - 3 p.m. Details on how to join the workshop will be emailed to graduate students.
