Tenure granted to eight Governors State University faculty for 2026
(University Park, Illinois) - This fall, eight Governors State University (GovState) professors will greet students as newly tenured academic scholars. Tenure is an academic distinction that recognizes faculty for their dedication to teaching, research, scholarship, and service to the University.
The professors who received tenure also received promotions to the rank of associate professor. They are:
- Eliot Fackler, Division of Arts and Letters
- Nicholas Marra, Division of Science, Mathematics, and Technology
- Jun Park, Independent Film and Digital Imaging
- Katherine Carl, Management Information Systems Department
College of Education and Human Development
- Cheun-Yeong Lee, Division of Education
- Shaalein C. Lopez, Division of Psychology and Counseling
College of Health and Human Services
- Frank Czuba, Department of Occupational Therapy
- Maryleen Jones, Department of Physical Therapy
