FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

University Park, IL – Governors State University’s Chicago Southland International Film Festival (CSIFF) is pleased to announce its top picks for the Feature Film Showcase during the third annual festival scheduled for the weekend of October 23-25, 2020.

Festival Co-founders Suzanne E. Patterson and Joshua E. Young hand-select 3 films each year providing filmmakers with a public performance and the opportunity to participate in post screening Q&A sessions with a diverse audience. Each film will be followed by either a live Q&A with the filmmaker or a prerecorded interview.

Repossession

The mind-bending thriller “Repossession” will kick off the festival on Friday, October 23.

This drama was co-directed by Goh Ming Siu, a Northwestern University graduate from Singapore, and Scott Hillyard. The film documents the journey of a middle-aged Singapore man who loses his job in a status-conscious society.

Seasons of Change

On Saturday and Sunday, the works of Chicago-based directors will be featured. “Seasons of Change on Henry’s Farm” by Ines Sommer will be screened on Saturday, October 24. In the film, Sommer shows the awakening of a Midwestern farmer as he bears witness to changing climate, ideals and technology.

Mustang Saviors

On Sunday, October 25, “Mustang Saviors” —a story of mutual healing between wild horses and veterans by David Glossberg —will be shown.
