Sen. Patrick Joyce to Present Check to Governors State

(University Park, Ill.) - On Tuesday, Aug. 22, IL Sen. Patrick Joyce, 40th District, will present a $250,000 check to Governors State University (GSU) to support incoming freshmen and first-generation students.

What: Check presentation to Governors State University to support Jaguar LEAP, a summer immersion program, which kicked off its second year in July. Students earn seven college credits while living on campus as part of the program.. In its first year, all 44 LEAP students enrolled in GSU's fall 2022 class.
