GSU Offers 2018 STEAM Technology Camp

University Park, IL— Registration opens Friday, March 16, for Governors State University's  hands-on science, technology, art and mathematics (STEAM) Camp.

STEAM Camp offers summer fun for children ages 11 to 16. Through a series of highly interactive activities, students will learn basic concepts in the visual and performing arts, chemistry, engineering, physics, and robotics.

"GSU’s STEAM Camp is a fun way for kids to learn about science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics on a college campus," said Luke Helm, STEAM camp director.

Camps are held on two different weeks, and students may register for one or both sessions.

Camp runs Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Fees are $200 per child, per week. Camp dates are as follows:

  • STEAM Camp week one: July 16 to 20, 2018.
  • STEAM Camp week two: July 23 to 27, 2018.

STEAM Camp Plus offers after-hour activities Monday through Thursday, 3 to 5 p.m. for an additional fee of $60 per session, per camper.

A limited number of partial scholarships are available. Scholarships for STEAM Camp are awarded on a first-come, first-served, need basis.
