Occupational Therapy professor joins Alpha Eta Society Executive Board

Recently elected to the Alpha Eta Society Executive Board, Governors State University’s (GovState) Dr. Frank Czuba joins nine other new members for a 2025-2027 term of office.
In his new role on the Executive Board, Dr. Czuba hopes to help the GovState chapter grow.
“Our Alpha Eta chapter is expanding its impact by facilitating interprofessional collaboration, service, and education,” said Dr. Czuba of GovState’s chapter, Gamma Psi Upsilon. “We not only recognize the students and faculty who participate in this service and leadership, but we also help foster increased opportunities and engagement."
“By serving on the Executive Board, I aim to identify new opportunities for our chapter, facilitate cross-university collaboration, and enhance the national recognition of the outstanding work being done by Governors State University's College of Health and Human Services,” added Dr. Czuba who teaches Occupational Therapy.
The Alpha Eta Society, founded in 1975, serves as the honor society for allied health professions (professions that assist, facilitate, or complement the work of physicians and other specialists) and has 94 chapters at academic institutions with over 35,000 inducted members. With a motto of “Together We Serve,” the Society supports academic excellence, leadership, and scholarship in its chapters sponsoring awards and scholarship each year for outstanding students.
Dr. Czuba looks forward to what this experience will bring and feels grateful for the dedication that shines through the work of GovState’s chapter members.
“The Alpha Eta motto is: "Together We Serve" and this is most evident in the work being done by our faculty and students to lead evidence-based healthcare service provision, community service, and academic excellence,” said Dr. Czuba. “The development of our chapter owes a great deal to Dean Cathy Balthazar and our steering committee, comprising Dr. Angela Riccelli, Dr. Valerie Coolman, and Dr. Dustin Hogan. Together we do indeed serve.”
