Dr. Natalie Coleman is a University Lecturer of Education at Governors State University (GovState). She earned a Doctor of Education in Educational Policy, Organization, and Leadership from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana. She also holds a Master of Education in Educational Administration and Bachelor of Science in Chemistry with honors from GovState.
Before joining GovState in 2022, Dr. Coleman taught at Lewis University, the University of St. Francis and Bloom High School.

Dr. Coleman has conducted professional presentations in educational settings on the following topics:

- STEAM and the State of Black Learning
- Social justice in K-12 settings
- School attendance and reducing anxiety
Additional areas of advocacy and knowledge:
Dr. Coleman has developed policies in the areas of veterans' rights, mental health, and caregiver support; drafted proposals focusing on workforce development and comprehensive protections for interpreters and their families who assisted U.S. troops; advocated for military women’s rights, working to address and provide support for survivors of sexual assault within the armed forces; and supported fair labor practices in local industries.
Dr. Coleman is available to talk about equity in STEAM, K-12 leadership, education policy, and legislation and government policy development on veteran affairs, women’s rights and fair labor practices.
