Governors State University’s Athletic and Recreation Center is back open, with enhanced COVID protocols, for the  GSU and extended community

GSU students and staff using the facility must be COVID compliant with either proof of vaccination or weekly testing. All non GSU members must show proof of vaccination.

In addition to these measures, the center has coordinated with GSU housekeeping to create a regular sanitation schedule for the facilities and has converted the racquetball court into an advanced free weight room to help with social distancing.

The center will operate Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. All GSU students may use the center for free, if they present a valid student “ONE CARD” for admittance. GSU faculty and staff members can purchase an annual membership for $125. Outside community memberships are $275 with available discounts for senior citizens.
