Governors State University named Best in Chicago's Southland

(University Park, Ill.) – Governors State University (GovState) has been named as the Best College in the Chicago Southland, leading the 2025 “Best of Chicago’s Southland” readers’ awards. Edging out several local colleges and universities, GovState received hundreds of votes declaring it the best.  

“This year Governors State University celebrates 56 years of exceptional and accessible educational right here in Chicago’s Southland. We are grateful to our community for this vote of confidence in the work we do with and for students,” said Will Davis, V.P. of External Affairs at GovState.
