Governors State Offers Winter STEAM Camp Dec. 12 - Jan. 7

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

(UNIVERSITY PARK, Ill.) Registration is now open for Governors State University's (GSU) first, virtual winter hands-on science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM) camp set to run-in two one-week sessions beginning Dec. 12, 2021.

Since 2014, GSU’s STEAM camp has introduced campers ages 11 to 16 to current topics in science, technology, the arts, mathematics, and career development, providing an exceptional opportunity for today’s students to become tomorrow’s innovators.

Extensive interaction with highly qualified faculty, business, and industry volunteers and peers complement camp modules taught by outstanding instructors and field practitioners, exceptional GSU students and alumni, and volunteer experts from business and industry.

Now, for the first time, this year, the camp will be offered in the winter.

Camp Director Luke Helm said the popularity of the camp, exceptional support from GSU faculty, students, staff, alumni, local businesses and governments created the ideal conditions for a highly engaging virtual winter camp.

Camp fee is $25 per child, per week, with an early registration discount of 20% after the first registered session at the regular price. Campers may register for one or both sessions. Space is limited.

  • Virtual STEAM Camp, Week 1, Dec. 12 to Dec.31, 2021, with select units between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.
  • Virtual STEAM Camp, Week 2, Jan. 3 to Jan. 7, 2022, with select units between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.
