Still looking for a cool summer activity for the kids?

Well, Governors State University’s STEAM Camp 2022 may have something for you! Middle- and high school students will have a chance to get hands-on science, technology, art, engineering, and mathematics experience this summer in University Park.

The camp, offered by GSU since 2014, engages students ages 11 to 16  in experiments, field activities, project-based learning, field trips and more to encourage them to pursue STEAM careers.

“STEAM Camp challenges campers to become tomorrow’s innovators through a series of hands-on fun and educational activities,” said STEAM Camp Director Luke Helm.

Camp dates are as follows:

SESSION ONE: Monday, July 11 to Friday, July 15, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

SESSION TWO: Monday, July 18 to Friday, July 22, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

SESSION THREE: Monday, July 25 to Friday, July 29, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The camp costs $150 per session, per camper, with multi-session/multi-camper discounts available. There are also a limited number of need-based scholarships available.

STEAM Camp Plus offers after-hour activities Monday through Thursday from 3 to 5 p.m. for $60 per session, per camper.

The camp is also hiring camp coaches for its summer programming. Coaches must be at least 18 years old, have an interest in learning and working with children and will support the development and delivery of STEAM-related content. For more information click here.
