Governors State Announces Plans for Spring Classes

I am writing today to announce the GSU operational plan for Spring 2021.

We are all aware that the pandemic continues to affect our communities, the state, and the nation. We have no assurances that things will substantially improve in the few months between now and the spring semester. In planning for the spring semester, GSU continues to prioritize the health and safety of our students, faculty, and staff.

In order to keep our community as safe as possible and provide continuity for the instructional modalities and work plans currently in place for Fall 2020, those plans will now continue into the Spring 2021 semester.

In addition, the Spring calendar will be modified as follows:

· The semester will begin as scheduled on Tuesday, January 19, 2021

· The scheduled break for spring during March 15-21, 2021 has been canceled.

· The semester will end on Monday, May 3, 2021, one week earlier than scheduled

As we have since the beginning of the COVID pandemic, we will continue to follow the guidance of state and local health authorities, along with the CDC.
