Five things to do at Business Week 2026

The future of AI and the workforce is just one of the topics to explore at this year’s Business Week, hosted by Governors State University’s (GovState) College of Business (COB).
COB Dean Sonia Dalmia emphasized the importance of hosting this annual event.
“Business Week reflects our commitment to preparing students for a rapidly changing workforce,” said Dean Dalmia. "By bringing together industry leaders, alumni, students, and community partners, we create meaningful opportunities to explore how emerging technologies like AI are reshaping business practice and career pathways."
From Monday, April 13 – Friday, April 17, students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community members are invited to engage in a variety of sessions and networking opportunities.
1. Jeopardy | Monday, April 13 from 1 – 4 p.m. in the Hall of Honors (D1490) – It's time to put that business knowledge to the test! Join a fast-paced, high-energy Jeopardy Game hosted by COB where learning meets fun, friendly competition.
2. Junior Achievement Financial Literacy Live @ GovState | Tuesday, April 14 from 12:30 – 2:30 p.m. in the Hall of Governors – Looking for real-world money management skills? This interactive session, hosted in partnership with Junior Achievement, offers practical strategies for budgeting, credit, saving, investing, and planning.
3. Alumni Reception | Wednesday, April 15 from 5 – 8:30 p.m. in the Center for Performing Arts – This evening event offers alumni, students, and industry leaders a space to network and listen in on a panel discussion on the future of work with AI. Panelists include Edward Hobson Jr. (Principal Product Management - Technical, Amazon), Martina Matthews (Founder, MissChatGPT101), and Phil Kambic (CEO, Riverside Health) amongst others.
4. AI Literacy in Action | Thursday, April 16 from 1 – 4 p.m. – Learn about practical, real-world AI skills that can be used in the classroom and the workplace. Facilitators of this event include Martina Matthews (AI literacy strategist and Founder of MissChatGPT101), Connor Cofoid (startup operator and Founder of Connor Cofoid Consulting, LLC), and Devin Tyler (Founder and CEO of Tenacity).
5. The Future of Supply Chain Logistics: Forecasting, AI, and Workforce Readiness | Friday, April 17 from 8:30 a.m. – 12 p.m. in the Hall of Governors – Supply chain leaders, professionals, and students are invited to join a conversation that focuses on how today’s disruptions, data, and AI are reshaping decisions for the next two, four, and 10 years.
