Fall Welcome Week 2024

New and returning Jaguars can look forward to a fun-filled welcome back as Governors State University (GovState) celebrates the start of the fall semester with a Welcome Week full of free food, music, and games, even a trip to Chicago for a Sky Basketball Game.

The campus tradition kicks off August 26 with speed friending, a networking lunch for students to meet new friends or connect with familiar faces.

Check out some of the Welcome Week events below to get in the Jaguar spirit:

• August 27: Stop by the International Mix & Mingle to celebrate international culture on campus and make some friends from all around the world. Enjoy food, games, activities, music and prizes.
• August 28: Jaguars night out! Enjoy a tour of the Greater Chicagoland area as GovState heads to a WNBA Chicago Sky Game. Complimentary transportation. Limit one ticket per person.
• August 29: It’s time for the GovState Block Party & Greek Life Fair! Looking to get involved? Interested in learning about fraternities and sororities? Join CSEIP staff at the outdoor block party to meet club/organization leaders, learn about campus and community resources while enjoying complimentary food trucks, games and a live DJ.
• August 30: Looking for a Nostalgic Campus Cooldown? Stop by to relive your childhood by playing a few rounds of everyone’s favorite childhood games such as: Musical Chairs, Hopscotch, Red Light/Green Light, Simon Says, 4 Squares, Limbo, and more! Light refreshments provided.
