Education Doctoral Program joins Carnegie Project on the Education Doctorate
Joining a network of over 145 schools and colleges of education, Governors State University’s (GovState) Interdisciplinary Leadership Doctoral (INLD) Program is now a part of the Carnegie Project on the Education Doctorate (CPED).
“This is a huge opportunity for GovState as we are now in the same conversations as big schools like Arizona State, Clemson, and John Hopkins University,” said Matthew Cooney, Associate Professor in the College of Education and Human Development (CEHD).
Like other institutions in CPED, GovState’s INLD program underwent a national review of program leadership, as well as personnel and faculty qualifications.
Becoming a member means that the INLD program joins others programs that are designed to be rigorous with direct ties to real-world challenges, offering the skills and knowledge needed for the education field.
“Membership and affiliation with CPED demonstrate that our program is committed to student success using a scholarly practitioner model, signature pedagogies, and high-quality mentoring and advising,” said Cooney.
Now, CEHD can continue to grow and advance it’s INLD program with access to a community of resources, including colleagues from the network of schools and a library of program design and development resources, publications on EdD programming, and an archive of videos and materials from past webinars.
