DDP Welcome

Dual Degree Program Director Jessica Specht welcomes students back to classes.

Congratulations to the Dual Degree Program (DDP) participants who graduated with their associate degrees this past fall, and are making the transition to Governors State University. While you no longer are required to check-in with your DDP Transfer Specialist at your community college, the Dual Degree Program continues to be a resource for you while you are completing the second of your dual degrees. Our team of DDP Student Transition Assistants, is located five days a week in rooms A2128 and A2122. We are on campus to answer your questions, point you in the right direction, or simply be there to listen on a hard day. Your first semester at the university may be overwhelming, but there is no need to face it alone!

Throughout the spring semester, the Dual Degree Program will also be hosting opportunities to connect with fellow DDP students, while also engaging in professional development and/or volunteer activities. Starting with the Welcome Back Social on Wednesday, January 29th, stop by for a round of table games, or simply swing by for a slice of pizza before or after class!

Here is a full list of this semester’s events:

  • DDP Welcome Back Social – Wednesday, January 29th from 2:00pm-5:00pm (Jaguar Den, A2140)
  • DDP Career Symposium – Friday, February 28th from 11:30am-4:30pm (Engbretson Hall, B1240)
  • DDP Community Service Events – Hosted monthly, throughout Chicago and local suburbs

Keep an eye on your GSU student email account for announcements and further details regarding the events above. If you have any questions, feel free to contact DDP at 708.534.4494 or dualdegree@govst.edu. The Dual Degree Program wishes you an AWESOME spring semester, and look forward to seeing you around campus!
