University Park, IL—This year, give the gift of memorable experiences by taking advantage of Cyber Monday Sale at Governors State University (GSU) Center for Performing Arts(CPA)  on November 26.

Five stage productions are eligible for 20% off ticket prices online that day only, using the password CYBER. Features include the  timeless holiday favorite “The Nutcracker,” along with “Jesus Christ Superstar,” presented by Southland Area Theatre Ensemble, “Soul Royalty” starring Ferguson-based singer Brian Owens, “Hopera: A Fallen Hero” (a hip hop opera), and “The Ultimate Queen Celebration,” starring Marc Martel, the man behind the voice in the highly anticipated Freddie Mercury biopic, “Bohemian Rhapsody.”

This year, the highly-acclaimed Salt Creek Ballet’s classic “Nutcracker,” will feature internationally-recognized guest dancers Maria Mosina, Ballet Mistress, Colorado Ballet and Sterling Baca, Principal Dancer, Pennsylvania Ballet. The Nutcracker performers bring holiday cheer to GSU on Saturday, December 8 at 1 p.m. and 5 p.m.

Families will enjoy a ‘Sugar Plum Party’ between the performances at 3 p.m. where they can take pictures with Santa, enjoy hot chocolate and cookies, enter to win prizes, and more.

The Chicago Sun-Times has called the production “…a solid, professional Nutcracker,” and the Chicago Tribune calls it “a plum performance.” This enchanting holiday tradition features gorgeous sets and costumes and a cast of nearly 100 dancers, including local children and young adults ages 8-17.

Tickets are $43/$36/$28 for adults, based on seating location; $25 for seniors (65+); and $18 for children (16 and under).
