College of Business welcomes 2025 inductees of Beta Gamma Sigma

The College of Business (COB) recently welcomed its newest group of Beta Gamma Sigma (BGS) inductees during an intimate ceremony that highlighted both academic excellence and community.
Beta Gamma Sigma, founded in 1913, is the international business honor society for students and scholars at AACSB-accredited schools, like Governors State University's (GovState) College of Business. AACSB accreditation recognizes the top 5% of business school programs worldwide. BGS members go on to serve in a wide range of industries, often holding leadership roles in corporate, entrepreneurial, government, non-profit, and academic sectors.
Faculty and staff shared remarks underscoring the significance of BGS membership—not as a one-day accolade, but as a professional milestone that connects students to a global network of high-achieving business leaders. Inductees were encouraged to see this moment as a springboard for leadership, service, and future career opportunities.
A standout of the evening was the sense of community. Families proudly snapped photos, students exchanged congratulations, and faculty celebrated alongside them in a setting more reminiscent of a shared achievement than a ceremony. The event captured the heart of the College of Business: academic rigor paired with authentic support, where student success is recognized not just by the institution, but by the people who helped them reach this point.
Honorary members, alum Martina Matthews and faculty member Dr. HyeSoo (Hailey) Park, were also inducted.
