College of Business encourages connections with Business Week
Governors State University's (GovState) College of Business (COB) recently celebrated a successful Business Week event, captivating students and alumni with an inspiring keynote address by Dorri McWhorter, President and CEO of YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago. McWhorter's journey, from childhood dreams of writing a letter to Santa requesting to be an accountant for her parents to leading the YMCA resonated with the audience.
Fostering meaningful connections between students and alumni remains a core tenet of COB's Business Week. This year, McWhorter emphasized the importance of community and understanding by inviting attendees to stand and pledge their commitment to engage, embrace, and understand one another, mirroring COB's own values.
Dr. Sonia Dalmia, Dean of the College of Business, remarked, “Business Week is a wonderful event.
