Download

Congratulations are in order for three Governors State University (GovState) employees who were named Civil Service Employee of the Month from June through August 2024! All nominations were made anonymously.

DaSean Quinn, Police Officer in the Department of Public Safety, received the award in June 2024. A co-worker shared: “Officer Quinn has displayed a commitment to fulfilling his role and duties in a professional manner, as it relates to the mission of the Department of Public Safety. He has demonstrated outstanding customer service by not only focusing on the importance of meeting high expectations of his role and duties, but eagerly learning more about the roles that we all have, collectively, that contribute to the success of GovState students.”

The July 2024 award recipient was Kimberly Keaton, Office Manager in the College of Business MME Division. “Kimberly Keaton exemplifies the type of support staff everyone wishes they had to make their lives easier. She offers prompt, diligent, effective, and caring assistance. She executes her responsibilities like changes in course schedule or posting course change information for students promptly and in consultation with the faculty,” said an appreciative co-worker.

Chanel Kennedy-Bertrand, Programmer Analyst in Institutional Research (IR), was the award recipient for August 2024. “Chanel embodies the epitome of excellence in Institutional Research, making her an outstanding candidate for the Employee of the Month recognition. As an IR team member, she goes above and beyond to impart her extensive knowledge with patience and clarity, fostering an environment of continuous learning and growth among her peers,” wrote a co-worker.

Congratulations to DaSean, Kimberly, and Chanel. Keep up the great work!
