Civil Service Employee of the Month Recap Fall 2024

Congratulations are in order for two Governors State University (GovState) employees who were named Civil Service Employee of the Month in October and November 2024! All nominations were made anonymously.

Jessica Haynes, Research Analyst in the Institutional Research (IR) Department, received the award in October 2024. A co-worker shared: “I would like to nominate Jessica Haynes for employee of the month because she is a teacher without being an actual teacher. She has guided me as a new employee in understanding all that is involved with my role in the IR department. Jessica takes the time to fully explain all aspects of any project that is sharing information about. She answers all questions and if unable to provide an answer, she has the knowledge to provide the resources to find the answer.”

The November 2024 recipient was Blaise Lukasiewicz, Documentation/Training Specialist in Information Technology Services. “Blaise is always ready and willing to help with a smile. I have relied on him for things outside of his role. For example, I just asked him for a referral to a CPR/First and he provided the name of someone that might be able to help us!” wrote an appreciative co-worker.
