Dr. Chevonne Alston is an Assistant Professor of Accounting at Governors State University. She holds a Ph.D. in Accountancy from the University of Mississippi's Patterson School of Accountancy, as well as a B.S. in Management and an MBA in Accounting from Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University's School of Business & Industry.

Prior to becoming an assistant professor at Governors State University in 2018, Dr. Alston held the role of research associate (2010) followed by the position of adjunct professor (2010-2013), both at Governors State University. Then, she was a research/teaching assistant at the University of Mississippi (2012-2017).

Dr. Alston is a Certified Fraud Examiner and an Illinois Certified Public Accountant (CPA). She is a member of the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA), American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), Illinois CPA Society (ILCPAS), and the National Society of Black CPAs.
