CDIS Student Receives Leadership Award

Crystal Gray, a graduate Communication Disorders student, was recently selected to receive a prestigious American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) award.

Gray, one of 40 students selected from more than 200 applicants for the Minority Student Leadership Program (MSLP), will attend the ASHA's national conference in Orlando and professional networking opportunities.

The training will help prepare her to meet professional goals, Gray said.

"With ASHA's MSLP, I will learn how to make a broader impact on students within the field of speech-language pathology, colleagues and communities I will encounter as a future speech-language pathologist, researcher, and professor, and learn to better advocate for culturally and linguistically diverse populations,'' she said.
