BGA and GSU Team to Offer Volunteer Citizen Watchdog Training

 

University Park, Illinois – Governors State University and the Better Government Association are sponsoring a free presentation to empower citizens with the tools needed to examine their government, access information, and focus on how to change and improve how government operates.

The BGA’s Volunteer Citizen Watchdog Training will be held on February 18, from 1 to 3 p.m., in room F1622 at Governors State University in University Park. Attendees will hear presentations from veteran journalists and legal professionals on governmental operations, the Open Meetings Act, and the Freedom of Information Act. A Question and Answer Session will follow.

Presenters include Bob Reed, BGA’s Director of Programming and Matt Topic, BGA’s Outside Counsel and attorney at Loevy and Loevy.

This program is free and open to everyone interested in learning how our government operations can be impacted by the efforts of individual citizens.
