2023 Fall Welcome Week

Governors State University (GovState) welcomed new and returning Jaguars to campus Aug. 28 for the start of the week long Welcome Week festivities full of free food, giveaways, games, a block party and other activities, including a look into Greek Life and the benefits of joining these organizations.

This campus tradition kicks off the fall semester with an opportunity for students to connect with peers, faculty, staff, student organizations and campus resources.

Check out a few of the Welcome Week events below that will help inspire your Jaguar Spirit:

  • Aug. 29: Stop by Engbretson Hall for the International Mix & Mingle where you can make friends from all over the world and enjoy Icebreaker games, music, prizes and food!
  • Aug. 30: Flex your knowledge of Psychology at the Psychology Club Trivia event in Engbretson Hall. You can meet the club's leaders and win prizes!
  • Aug. 31: Head to the ‘D’ main entrance for a Welcome Back Block Party & Greek Life Fair where you can meet student leaders, join a club or organization and enjoy games, a live DJ, food trucks and more.
  • Sept. 1: End the week with a Welcome Back Bash in the E Lounge hosted by Black Student Union.
