2020 Spring Welcome Week
Governors State University ushers in new and returning students with Welcome Week. This year’s theme, In Luau of Snow, includes activities and events to help students stay toasty!
The festivities kicked off on Jan. 20 with the Dr. Martin L. King, Jr. Commemoration Program, featuring keynote speaker, Rev. Jesús Márquez.
Conquer Mount Jaguar, a rock climbing wall in the Hall of Governors, on Jan. 22 and take Hula dance lessons at the Luau Celebration on Jan. 23. Have some laughs with comedian John Bell who will be hosting a Welcome Week Comedy Show on Jan. 25 with local comedians Prince T. Dub and Levi dha Komedian and national rappers/comedians, Free Daps. DJ Nephets of Power 92.3 will provide sound.
From a Movie Night to a Hula Hoop Contest, students can enjoy saying aloha to a new semester!
