September COVID Update

As Governors State University begins to welcome students, faculty and staff back on campus, precautions have been taken to keep everyone healthy and safe. Here are the September updates:

  • Jaguars are required to Mask Up in all buildings, including kitchen, lounge, and lobby areas of Prairie Place. The #GovState advocates have created videos on the proper way to wear your mask.
  • Temperature checking stations have been installed across campus. As a self-check measure, students, faculty, and staff stand in front of the device, which resembles an iPad. Within seconds, the device flashes the registered body temperature on the screen. Temperature checking stations are located near entrances A, D, F, and G, as well as in Prairie Place.
  • All students enrolled in Fall 2020 courses are required to complete COVID-19 Awareness & Prevention training training by Sept. 15. This includes undergraduate and graduate students who are enrolled from part-time to full-time, in online or hybrid programs, and living off or on-campus. Employees have until Oct. 1 to complete the training. Keep an eye out for an email from Get Inclusive for more instruction on how to participate. Please contact the Human Resources Department at HR@govst.edu with any questions.
