School of Extended Learning Extends Helping Hand

While unemployment rates in Will County skyrocket to above 17% in the face of the pandemic, Amy Barsha, Executive Director of the School of Extended Learning at Governors State University is assisting those seeking employment.

"It’s crucial that these workers gain new skills in order to transition to a new career path. The School of Extended Learning (SXL) offers many certification courses that help individuals gain these valuable skills needed for re-entry into the workforce."

For many unemployed, certification courses are out of their tightened budgets so SXL has created a guide to help students get the training they need.

"We know that paying for courses can be a real challenge, so we have broadened our options and now offer multiple private loans for professional development and certification courses," Barsha said.
