GSU's Drive to Boost International Student Enrollment

In 2017, GSU saw its international enrollment drop by about 60 percent, mirroring national trends. As the pattern continued, the university reached out to Krishna Prasanth, a “country manager” in India—which most international students at GSU call home.

Prasanth began recruiting students in fall 2018. “Most students have one question right out of the gate: ‘Hey, what are the chances of getting a visa?’”

Prasanth recently talked with WBEZ about how he's helping international students navigate application and enrollment procedures, as well as the process of obtaining a student visa to study at Governors State University.
