GovState Director of Social Justice hosts a faith workshop with St. Sabina Church

(University Park, Illinois) - The impact of faith on trauma and wellness will center a discussion co-hosted by Governors State University's (GovState) Social Justice Initiative and The Third Day Church Project of St. Sabina Church on Wednesday, May 1.

In addition to host Dr. West, the Fireside Conversation on Faith, Trauma, and Wellness will feature fellow community leaders Rev. Dr. Danie J. Buhuro, Executive Director Sankofa CPE Center, and Dr. Robert Marshall, Founder and CEO The Survivor Circle. 

The leaders will explore the church's role in addressing the spiritual and emotional needs of the community and the intersectionality of faith & holistic communal support. 

“We want to encourage collective healing so we can improve the quality of lives in our communities,’’ said Dr. West, director of the Social Justice Institute at GovState.
