Governors State takes top advertising awards
Educational Advertising Awards are nation’s largest
(University Park, Ill.) -- The nation’s largest educational advertising awards competition recognized Governors State University’s (GovState) new tagline announcing “We Are GovState” with gold and silver awards in the 39th Annual Educational Advertising Awards.
Additionally, the University’s College of Health and Human Services (CHHS) won a silver award for its 2023 edition of “Make Someone's Life Better- College of Health & Human Services” annual magazine. And, the College of Business took gold for a program to promote its annual “Reimagining Electric Vehicle” event.
The program featured speakers and infographics for the conference where industry leaders come together to discuss trends with electric vehicles.
In its magazine, CHHS showcases its highlights and accomplishments, including historical stroke awareness legislation and fundraisers, in 24 colorful pages.
In 2023, the University, formerly known as GSU informally, rebranded itself as GovState to celebrate the 10-year anniversary of the University's expansion to a four-year institution.
Leaders said GovState more accurately captures the identity of Governors State and aligns with the email nomenclature. The new tagline was rolled out in a direct mail postcard, as well as a Chicago Bulls magazine for gold and silver awards, respectively.
GovState was one of more than 1,000 colleges, universities and secondary schools from 50 states and several foreign countries to submit 20000 entries.
Gold EduAdAwards went to 480 entries; silver to 278 entries, and bronze to 179 winners.
