Doing Business in Eastern Europe

On Friday, March 9, 2018, GSU’s College of Business hosted its fourth annual "Doing Business in..." seminar for businesses in the region. This year's focus was Eastern Europe. Consuls General and trade commissioners from Poland, Bulgaria, and Serbia spoke about the business opportunities in their countries. Representatives from SBA, DOC, and IL DCEO also discussed resources and services the state and federal government provide to businesses. Keynote presenter, Dr. Sheila Puffer of Northeastern University, discussed cultural differences in Eastern Europe, and an afternoon business panel shared with audience best practices and lessons learned in the region.

About 55 people attended the event, including representatives from area businesses including Frigid Fluid, MedGyn, Metro Chicago Exports, Northwestern Indiana World Trade Alliance, and Lake County International Trade Center.
