2023 student Commencement speakers announced

An aspiring educator and computer science engineer have been selected to deliver student commencement speeches during Commencement ceremonies on May 13, at Tinley Park Convention Center.
Bhargavi Kasetti, 25, a graduate student studying Computer Science hails from Hyderabad, India. She enrolled at GSU in 2021, after discovering the university in her online research. As a student, Bhargavi excelled, achieving a 3.85 GPA and has served the community as a graduate assistant in the Counseling and Wellness Center, spending many hours in the Food Pantry. Bhargavi looks forward to learning computer languages that will help her write code with a major software engineering firm.
Bhargavi will speak at the morning ceremony, where College of Arts and Sciences and College of Business graduates will receive diplomas at 10 a.m.
Ralph Sansone, 39, an Elementary Education major, joined GSU in 2021 as part of the Dual Degree Program’s partnership with Kankakee Community College. He also received a scholarship through the Honors Program and will graduate with a 3.91 GPA. Ralph, who earned his GED at age 20, says he looks forward to helping students discover passion for learning and for life.
Ralph will speak at the afternoon ceremony, where College of Education and College of Health and Human Services graduates will receive diplomas at 4:30 p.m.
