President Maimon on NPR

GSU President Elaine P. Maimon’s review of Ron Chernow’s biography Alexander Hamilton, the book that inspired the Broadway juggernaut, was recently broadcast on National Public Radio Illinois (NPR).

In her review, Dr. Maimon encourages Illinois legislators to take inspiration from Alexander Hamilton’s willingness to compromise for the sake of democracy: “[Hamilton] understood, perhaps more than any other founding father, that compromise is essential to democratic government. The US constitution would not exist without compromise.”
