Meet with Business Leaders During July 31 Panel Discussion

University Park, IL – Governors State University School of Extended Learning will host a free Business Networking Breakfast and Panel Discussion on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 from 8:30-10:30 a.m. at Governors State University, 1 University Parkway in University Park, Illinois.

The panel discussion, “Public Relations Strategies for Business and Industry,” includes a notable panel of experts, including Jeanne Sparrow, WVAZ 102.7 FM personality and founder of The Spoken Bird, who will provide tips on securing media coverage. Product and service promotion via video, social media, and special events will also be covered.

Alexis H. Sarkisian of Governors State University will moderate the discussion. Other panel experts include Eric Crump, Editor-HF Chronicle; Heather Jones, Executive Director-Chicago Southland Chamber of Commerce; Yani Mason, Director of Development and Marketing-EPIC Academy; Ted Slowik, Columnist-The Daily Southtown; and Lathea S. Smyles, President-Sta’ Phocused Productions.

Sparrow offered a preview of her message: “The most important thing anyone can do to promote what they’re selling is to settle on a message that captures its essence and consistently communicate it well. Media coverage works very well at getting the word out, but only when you have something to say in a way that makes your audience pay attention.’’

The information-packed event will not only allow business and industry attendees to make connections and receive valuable insights from a distinguished panel, their company name will also appear on GSU School of Extended Learning’s website for thirty days after the event. Attendees can also enter for a chance to win a gift card. Several attendees will win.
